Lisa Ventura-Whiting SAC is a freelance weight management consultant and writer, who having lost over four stone in weight and battled with a compulsive eating disorder, has managed to cure herself of the disorder and lose and maintain her weight herself, without any outside help whatsoever!
She has recently completed her first book entitled Getting Slim, Staying Slim - One Woman’s Survival Guide, and has had her success story featured in the November 2001 issue of Shape magazine, as well as two features written about her success in the local paper, the Worcester Evening News (1 and 2).
Lisa is the chief writer and editor of Staying Slim, and she has recently qualified as a Weight Management Consultant. She also has a Diploma in Diet and Nutrition Theory. In Spring 2002 she will be launching The Staying Slim Weight Management Consultancy, and will be running weekly Weight Management classes at her local gymnasium.
In addition to all this, Lisa is a keen gym goer and enjoys aerobics, yoga and circuit training classes, and she exercises or attends a class of some form every day to keep her fit and her weight down. She also has regular long walks with her dogs, a German Shepherd called Toyah and a collie-cross called Howie.
Lisa is also working on a series of healthy eating and weight management talks for her local radio station and a weekly column for the local newspaper, and is developing a TV series based on her book Getting Slim, Staying Slim, which she hopes will gain interest from channels such as the Discovery Health Channel and Channel Health. She is also to be featured on the Discovery Health Channel show Diet Busters in Summer 2002.
